Bereits im Vorspann hagelt es faule Pointen. Und auch der Rest des Films trampelt genüsslich auf Robert Louis Stevensons Romanvorlage herum. Da bin ich schon fast wieder froh, dass er weder im Vor-, noch im Abspann erwähnt wird.
Wo Schiffsratten und anderes Getier mit Menschen spricht und an den plotpoints gesungen wird, kann man wohl kaum eine ordentliche Verfilmung erwarten. Doch diese Version spottet jeder Beschreibung.
Die Schmankerl: Ein nerviger Rastafari-Affe ("Relaax, Maan!") und surfende Fische.
